First of all I wanna say that I'm a new member on this site. I've checked it out a few times and it seems that people get good help and tips so I decided to register too.
Anyway I bought an inspiron 1520 right about 2 years ago. It's my first laptop and I havent had any troubles with it whatsoever and it's been surving me great. However 2 years of wear and tear have taken its toll on the outside plastic cover of the computer. One of the corners is cracked (the one to the right of the volume and play/pause buttons) the metal part is a bit bent but it's nothing serious. The plastic part though is cracked pretty bad. This accident happened to me a year ago but the crack has been getting progressively bigger and has been bugging me lately. Anyway my question is where I can buy a replacement casing/palmrest for this computer and how difficult it is to do it yourself.
Cheers

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Well it looks like the 1520 palmrest is amply available on eBay, and it isn't expensive either:

Dell's service manual has instructions on how to replace the palmrest:

wow thanks! I googled a bunch of stuff but never bothered to check ebay.
thanks and cheers -
its not that hard,,just follow the instructions on the dell site for replacing palmrest,,and you eventually have the palmrest in your hands.-i can do it in 20 minutes....but take your time...its better to do it slow and careful..than screw things up.

Just make sure you keep track of your screws and where they came from. You'll have 10 to 20 lying around by the time you get everything off, depending on how the 1520 is set up.
my inspiron 1520 needs some TLC
