    my m1210, how upgradable?

    with all these meroms coming out, i was wondering how easy it is (and does it void any warranty? i'm on a 3 year complete cover warranty) to upgrade my m1210 to a merom chip myself (only IF i find it useful/necessary, of course)?

    last night I talked to one of the XPS experts online and she told me that upgrading the hard drive, processor, and RAM are easy to do on the m1210 and would NOT void the warranty. Of course two nights before the techie said installing XP home on one would void it.

    Did she mean going through Dell to upgrade would not make it void or doing it yourself wouldnt make it void?

    It might void the trouble shooting part of your warranty... They might not help you with problems if you install your own OS... But if it's something hardware that goes out, yes dell will still replace it.
