i normally dont opt for the wsxga due to the higher res and smaller icons and text etc, this is actually aside from my home comp the first one ive personally owned.. if i had known now that dell was not going to be using auo anymore i would have just simply re-ordered the wxga+ screen and been done with it..

now i cant or ill loose nearly 450$ in compensation through the escalation dept and there is not coupon right now.. a total of 775$ lost..

i dont game much but when i want to i def want to be able to do so.. what kinds of issues am i going to have running the wsxga.. i use wsxga 22" and 24" screens at home and they seem to play games just fine?? everyone is telling me this one will not be good for games?

is it worth it even a small amount to re-order to change the screen and loose all the discounts?? (trust me i think thats crazy) but i just dont know now if ill be happy with the wsxga..

    thanks in advance

You'll have no problems gaming with a WSXGA screen. You will have problems gaming with a WSXGA screen at native resolution. Lower the resolution in games to 1280x800 and you'll be fine.

zfactor, I saw the WSXGA+ screen the Dell Kiosk at the mall, it's not THAT bad as I thought it would be, it's definitely doable.

I myself think I'm gonna go with the 1440 one though, but either would be fine. Esp since you're already use to those high resolutions, you should be fine.

yea, you can easily just lower the res. But like I said in the other thread, the more you lower, the more you lose quality. I for one want to game mainly in my native res(which is almost impossible on 1680)to keep things as sharp as possible. Also, the better contrast and brightness made me opt for the 1440 as well.
