    Dell has suprised me with only a week wait and today i got an email saying they have shipped my 1640. now does anyone have any idea how long it will take for shipment? hopefully on or before friday??

    Depends on where you live. Took me about 1-3 days for the 3 laptops in total that I've ordered in the past. I live in California, USA.

    You should have tracking information in that email or in your Dell account (if you ordered online). It's generally pretty quick once the thing ships; I've had a couple next-day deliveries in California.

    Grat's :D As the others have stated it shouldnt take that long! :D

    You can also go to fedex.com ~ and enter your order number as your reference number, the estimated ship date, your country and the shipping postal code, and you should be able to find out tracking/shipping information..if you don't have the tracking # by Dell yet :D
