Hi guys, I was wondering how hard it is to repaste the N5010? I've repasted my acer 5920g's CPU and GPU and it dropped temps from 88 to 70 under load, but it seemed really easy with the barn door on the back of it.

How hard in comparison would the N5010 be, seeing as it only has a ram flap?

    cheers Alex

The N5010 requires the motherboard to be flipped to get easy access to the CPU heatsink.

    Documentation

From the Dell Service Manual. Honestly removing the system boards of the Capella platform Dells, once you get under the palmrest and remove the screws/connectors it is right there. But perhaps I have repasted too many Dells at work..

damn you and all your experience! It looks a bit more time intensive but not that difficult. The acers are very easy to open up with everything under one hatch, lovely.

thanks for the manual, cheers Alex
