above is the service/warranty options present in XPS 1530 currently (dell India).

I am confused whether the basic configuration (selected by default) includes the 1 - yr limited warranty/next business day onsite support? (as it is not mentioned anywhere directly)

If it has the thing then the difference between dell care & default one is only 'helpdesk'?!!

    Please reply soon...

I'm not too certain they are the same between dell America and dell India, but i would think so.

Here, the basic included warranty is 1 year parts, and mail in service (you send them your laptop to fix). You can upgrade that to 1 year parts and next business day on site warranty (a tech comes to your house). You can upgrade that to 1 year complete care which means you throw it down your stairs and you can get a new laptop. And then that can be upgraded to include the 1 year help desk support.

Are there more warranty options then those listed in your screen shot?

Here is the complete options that one may select when buying an XPS 1530

As you can see there is no option where any 'next day onsite support is mentioned' but its hidden under 'premier service' , 'regional support for laptops in asia pacific' etc
for the basic option '1-yr limited warranty ' is also not mentioned. so does that mean its not there!!!???

Are you in India? Why not just call them and ask? I'm guessing that they probably can't offer next day onsite to all areas of India due to rural locations, etc.

    Give em a ring dude.

Call 1 800- 425- 4026 Toll Free or Call 080-2506-8026 (standard charges apply)

I cannot even get Next Business Day service in the U.S.!

I am lucky to get next 3 day service since I live in a rural location here.

actually the sales Rep I'm talking to isn't really clear about it. He says "onsite support is included but not the 24/7 support ". Whereas in the quoatation/web config it is clearly mentioned 24/7 telephonic support is available.
Thats why I'm only concerned about whether the above depicted basic config officially includes limited warranty/ on-site support. (not whether it'll be possible for them to vcarry out next day support)

hmmm... well, like I've done in the past - when I'm not satisfied with an explanation from a dell rep - I disconnect and call back.

You are about to spend some good cash - make sure you are satisfied with what you are getting/ordering.

I have bought a XPS 1530 from UK with Base Warranty (1 year) and would be going back to India in another month's time. Would I be able to get it covered by Dell in this case when I am in India.
