Ok so i have a couple issues right now.

First let me tell you, i have a Dell e1405, its beautiful, i love it. there is no lightleakage at all!

    ok so the issues:

    1. how can i get my laptop to stop asking me if i want to use xp pro or xp home? i reformated, and i only want XP PRO, xp home shouldnt even BE on my laptop anymore!

    2. i tried using the mediadirect repair utility disc, followed the instructions, and all i get is a message: Unable to launch media experience. Please install this software and try again.

    what do i do?

you need to edit your boot.ini file

right click on "My computer"-->properties-->Advanced Tab-->"settings" under startup & recovery-->edit-->delete the line that XP home. Save the file and reboot.

On the Media Direct problem, you need to install Dell Media Experience. You can download this software from Cyberlink's website. The link is located in the reformatting sticky (link in sig), post #7.

okay, you probably need to call dell and request that disc.

Another option is to download the older version from dell. Then you can install the updates. I thought the link on creative's site was a full version, but it turns out that it is only the updates.

    Sorry about that.
