    1. if i reinstall the vista cd that comes with the laptop, will it be minus mcaffee etc etc?

    2. is it really ok to just install a clean operating system; will a lack of a mediadirect partition cause real problems?

    3. can the ms vista updates all be installed onto the dell vista with no problems e.g the upcoming sp1?

    1. When i recieved my M1530, It came with a whole load of CD's to reinstall these programs. So I assume they put them there, so if you reinstall vista it would be "clean" without mcafee or other bloatware.

    2. I'm not sure with this one, I have some ideas, but i can't be certain. Im sure if you didnt reformat your HDD, the mediadirect should still be there, It isnt part of the OS

    3. Yes, just use windows update and the new drivers etc... Should be installed.
