There isn't really a guide; it's not really good to oc the cpu as it generates enough heat in the small space it has. If you still want to persue, download CPU-z to find your motherboard model, go here and look to see if your motherboard is listed. If it isn't, download SetFSB anyways, and try every motherboard until the speeds on SetFSB match the speeds in CPU-z.

If you don't want to risk it, don't do it.

"The only risk in life is not taking one." I say if you really want to, go for it. :) I was afraid (and I am sure many others were too) when I OC'ed my video card. Now I ask myself why I didn't do it earlier lol. Anyways, if you use the wrong motherboard and try to oc your fsb, the worst that will happen is your pc will freeze. Of course, if you leave it like that, it will get damaged.

There is no "safe" clockspeed; do not ever rely on other people's speeds. They could have a DDR3/DDR2, a diff card completely etc. Each OEM's cards are different. With that said, general rule of thumb is to add 50mhz core and mem, test it for artifacts with ATITool, then go up 10mhz and repeat.
