    hi everyone, well my friend is planning to buy this laptop and i wanted to make sure with you guys if that laptop would suit her needs.

    You could get the bigger battery for longer battery life, at the expense of weight and additional money.

    Also, if she is willing to, getting the Dell with the minimum 1GB of memory and upgrading yourself is much cheaper. Like you can buy 4GB with the money used to have Dell upgrade it to only 2GB.

    I'm guessing Inspiron 1525? It should work fine for what she would use it for.

    However, I would take Dave's suggestion.

    Yea just downgrade that to the 1GB RAM if you can. Then go out and buy yourself 2GB or 3GB of RAM and stick those in. Cheap and easy.

    It's from Canada, 2GB is the minimum on 1525s xd

    Sometimes Dells' memory costs about the same nowadays. Extra capacity battery is worth it in the long run. I use my laptop for more than two hours at a time and for long trips it's a godsend.
