Whatever you buy, I suggest you never ever buy a cheap D(h)ell laptop. I had made the mistake of buying a cheap D(h)ell Inspiron 5160 and since then in its last 3 years time, it had given me enough grief and headaches that in my company I gave these points to the management so that they went and order other better product than the D(h)ell

    1) They are heavy
    2) They are noisy
    3) They consume more power you need to carry a 2lbs power adapter with you all the time.
    4) They drain the battery faster and make it to be replaced in less than 3 year.
    5) They run hot always.
    6) Their techsupport sucks and never ever they able to fix it in one time.
    7) Loss of productivity and waste of money and resources.

OH my here it comes again an angry consumer...

Did you even bothered to look at how much ALL computer BRands get hammered.
I hear also that lenovo screen sucks and their customer service alike, that hp sells you cheap stuff and that their computers easily crack.
Acer is already falling apart before you start it.
Well you should learn something about it

    1. You cannot judge WHOLE computer brand for the pain one computer brought you
    2. That you get what you pay for, dont expect an 450$ computer to be as durable as an rugged notebook.
also you should use the search to look up for other people hating dell.

what kind of person keeps a computer for 3 years that they despise so much?

sounds more like you have a problem than the computer

    1) Based on your experience with an older laptop. You might want to check
    out the new ones.
    2) Based on your experience with an older laptop. You might want to check out the new ones.
    3) Based on your experience with an older laptop. You might want to check out the new ones.
    4) All batteries are like that. Many do not last beyond a year or two.
    5) Based on your experience with an older laptop. You might want to check out the new ones.
    6) Based on your experience with an older laptop. You might want to check out the new ones, and their support has gotten MUCH better since then.
    7) Agreed, but you need to do research about the current state of Dell and other companies.

Well, how about trying some expensive Dell then?
    - First, you say it's big and heavy and you have to carry a brick-like AC adapter, but weren't you supposed to see that before you bought it?
    - The battery always drains no matter what, fool. 3 years is pretty decent.
    - You whine about loss of productivity and resources, but if it's that critical to you, why keep the thing for 3 damn years?
    - Old laptops run hot if you don't clean the dust in the vents often.
    - You whine louder than your laptop runs.

Sucks that you don't like Dell's. But, sorry, you haven't convinced me not to buy them anymore. In fact, they are all I ever buy (laptops and desktops). I have always been a very satisfied customer.

    1) They are heavy
You knew the weight of your model when you bought it. They sold lighter ones at the time.

Would you complain that ALL Chevys are heavy vehicles when you drive a suburban yet they sold light cavilers at the time?

    2) They are noisy
You bought it with a P4 power hungry, hot running, processor inside. The fan needs to make some noise in attempts to cool that beast! Again an issue you should have known at the time of purchase, but a false generalization to make on a company as a whole.

    3) They consume more power you need to carry a 2lbs power adapter with you all the time.

Again, you bought it with a power hungry processor. BUT the battery life is written on dells website. This should not have been a surprise to you. Also, they had models with better battery life at the time of your purchase. Again, another hasty generalization.

    4) They drain the battery faster and make it to be replaced in less than 3 year.

Batteries only last a few hundred charges and discharges. All companies are like this.

    5) They run hot always.

Hasty generalization again! You bought one of the hottest running processors ever made!

    6) Their techsupport sucks and never ever they able to fix it in one time.

Every think that YOU maybe the problem?

    7) Loss of productivity and waste of money and resources.[/QUOTE]

Again, ever think that YOU are the problem?

    Lmfao..

Boo-hoo... If it was a huge loss in productivity and efficiency, and those two things being so important. Common sense says, get rid of the problem instead of investing countless hours into something you think, is 'the problem'.

You chose a machine with one of the hottest running processors ever. Pentium processors were GARBAGE. They ran hot, entirely crappy performance and executed everything poorly. Why do you think they are the 'budget' brand now?!

Of course a 3 year old laptop would be heavy, IT'S 3 YEARS OLD!.. Technology has come a long way. It'd also be noisy, having to cool that viscously terrible processor and being clogged with dust and dealing with you're ignorance.

Oh, and batteries.. They die.. They only have 100's of life cycles.. Also, witnessing the ignorance you've shown here, you obviously didn't take proper care to try and prolong it's life span. You're lucky it even lasted 3 years, most batteries don't last 6 months!

If you think Dells support sucks you obviously never encountered other phone services. NEWS FLASH! ALL CUSTOMER SUPPORT, NO MATTER WHAT, THEY ALL SUCK!.. Ever called an ISP, or the customer service at a phone company, it's like they were all dropped on their head.

You're just a fool, and you deserve every bit of flaming you get here.

    You're ignorant.

When you gotta register on forums, and post a rant to attemp to convice people not to buy from a company, then maybe you have a little to much time..

Seems to me you're a 'Loss of productivity and waste of money and resources' - when you'd rather go on the internet and complain and whine like a child instead of trying to resolve the problem or investing time into learning to make better choices in you're future purchase.

Actually the Dell X1 was out at that time. 2.5lb laptop that ran cool. Was dead silent as it has NO fan...The technology was there that he wanted at the time, he was just too ignorant to look and find it.

Can't shake the mental image of the original poster most likely typing his post from the very same laptop he's complaining about.

I figure from your statement that it's a company computer and not yours. You have to complain to your company since they made the decision. Could be that the computer was the best deal your company can get from Dell. If it lasted for 3 years then there's no productivity lost. You could always buy your own laptop and use it but then again you probably don't want to spend for it.
