Hi,
I just now did the New Dell Reformat to get rid of all the bloatware on it through Les' guide here in the Dell section, but I encountered a very unpleasent problem while installing the drivers (step 11)
I have finished installing Vista and MediaDirect, but when I am going to install the drivers from the drivers and utilities CD and install the Dell resource application... unfortunately, when clicking on extract any of the checked drivers it says:an the DOS executable shuts down... this way I cannot install ANY of the drivers... it is very very annoying..

anybody got a solution please? It is driving me nuts!!!

Don't follow that method. Simply go to Dell or install the drivers from within the Vista OS. It will expand and save them to your disk. From there the executable will start and driver installs.
I am going to guess that you, or the resource cd, is actually trying to expand them to the dvd which won't work.
I don't use that dvd at all. I go to Dell and download the needed drivers from there. -
ok but the problem is that vista doesn't even ask me to install drivers.
I do not have the wireless card driver so I cannot go to the web.
When I go to the device manager and want to install it from there, it doesn't find the drivers on the dell resource cd. All the files on it are executibles that have the error I mentioned before. Not even when I copy the files from the dell resource cd to the hard drive helps. And vista doesnt install for example the wifi card driver so that I could go online and dowload the others.
What a horbid situation!!! I dont understand why the executables write that stupid error ...
Someone help pls
new DELL big driver installation problem !!!
