Maybe if there's pictures, it would help.

The pictures were removed from the server that the OP linked to...I don't know why.

Hmmm...the server says 'down for maintenance.'

I see the pictures no problem. This was the "mystery black" laptop in Engadget.

Looks like there is a "blue" cover on this, so heres hoping theres color customization just like the Studio 15 and 17!

Looks horifically designed. Really budget-shopping sort of laptop. This is legit?

If it was a bare bones integrated graphics unit with low heat and a long battery life and only cost $300-400 I would buy one in a second...

I don't think the Dell E Slim is meant to be a cheap system much like this Inspiron will be. The E Slim is supposed to target customers who are looking at the Macbook Air. Even so, I think this laptop looks pretty decent.

Edit: Looks like Dell got to the pictures, they are gone.

No, the 12" Dell E is supposed to be a larger version of 9" Dell E, with Atom chipset and everything the same.
    Both are low priced laptops.

They aren't the same though. The Dell E is targetting the ultra light and inexpensive market and the Dell E Slim will attempt to go for Macbook Air and Thinkpad X300. The Dell E has the Diamondville Atom where the E Slim will have the Silverthorne. There will also be 1.8 inch hard drives in the E Slim

The design is like a mix between the XPS 1330 and the Vostro 1310. Don't like it :(
