hey guys,
i have a dell studio 1735 which is all quite sufficient except for its graphics card...
at the time i could only get the ATI Mobility 256mb, but i am heavily into gaming and 3D graphic art and the 256mb card does not handle alot of the latest games and struggles while i try to do my 3D works.. so i am looking at getting a new faster card for it.
i had a look around and you cannot buy anything separately off the dell website.
so my question is,
how can i tell which graphics cards are compatible with my laptop?
because i have found a few from a site called Parts People which sells dell parts but they do not have Studio1735 in the list they are compatible with..
two i was looking at are a 512mb Nvidia FX2500 or more likely a 1GB Nvidia Quadro FX3700M video card.
but i do not want to buy it if it will not work with my laptop.
does anyone know if the above cards will work with a dell studio 1735?
and if they wont where could i look to find a better one that will be compatible?
thanks in advanced
Kind Regards,
Jacobian

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
The GPU on the 1735/1737 is soldered to the motherboard. You can't replace it without replacing the motherboard. Even then you cannot buy a 1735/1737 motherboard with a GPU faster than the 3650 because it never shipped with anything better.
