    So my new Vostro 1400 just arrived with an XP OS and I'm uncertain about what is certainly a very simple issue: Can I install an old Service Pack 1 Office XP (from my old Inspiron 2650) on this Vostro's updated XP system? Thanks in advance.

    Any version of Office can be installed on either XP or Vista. Also, the service packs for Office aren't related to service packs for XP or Vista.

    So yes, you can install Office XP SP1 on XP SP2.
