well i was just looking for the ahci file or something like that cuz they said i needed it to freshly reinstall vista but read that i dont need it anymore... so im wondering do i need that file? or should i just do a regular fresh install of vista like normal? and then install the drivers with the check on them on my cd? also how do u know if you have the latest drivers?

sorry about going off topic... but if u could answer those questions, that would be nice...anyways A07 bios came out for the dell and was updated on 2/2/09 =-) hope that fixes some problems

If you have a Vista SP1 disk it can be installed on a hard drive in AHCI mode without having to load in drivers first.

My 1537 came with A07 I got on 12/24/08, I don't know what took them so long to make it public, it's been A05 until now. I know it doesn't fix the media panel issue. The only fix mentioned in the changelog is:

Fixed black screen after setting MFG2 mode on CCFL panel.

Which would apply only to the 1920x1080 screen since that's the only CCFL panel.
