I have actually been posting on it over there ;)

From what i think - and posted there, it is the rumored 16" 16:9 aspect ratio screen laptop that was mentioned a week or so ago (i believe on these boards).

It looks sexy in my opinion.

The rumored 16" was shown at CES and looked just like the 1530 ... this is something different either a hoax or something completely new.

I hope it's not the 16 inch model. Hopefully it's another 13-15 inch model. As i need to buy something now that this m1330 is being put out of it's misury.

It looks too big though, i would say 16" at a minimum. It could possibly be a 17" though. Maybe a lower powered xps 17" and they could move the higher powered sli 17" xps's to a different name?

Edit: I just noticed that there is another thread on this topic here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=208324

I was skeptical at first, but I was just thinking about when engadget leaked photos of the Beast and they ended up being right, so I think they're right about this too. I really hope so, it's a very nice looking laptop, and for once Dell will have gotten the design right IMHO.
Hope the specs will match the awesome design.

To me this laptop looks like a 17" anamorphic widescreen. There are 2 clues that lead me to believe this.

First of all the screen looks very wide compared to my Vostro 1700 when held at the same angle as the pic.

Secondly, the width of the laptop (measured from front panel to back panel) seems narrow. If you look at the length of the slot load CD drive, it takes up over half of the total length. Most disc rom drives are built to accommodate just enough room to fit in a dvd disc in the drive. While on my Vostro 1700 the width of a CD takes up only about 40% of the width of the laptop while in this picture the CD rom takes up at least half of it, if not more.

Also one more thing I noticed is that this laptop does not seem very thick. Towards the back of the side panel you can see the size of the headphone and microphone outputs and the laptop take up at least 60% of the thickness of the computer itself while it barely takes up 1/3 of the thickness of my vostro 1700 which leads me to believe that this laptop will not have heavy graphics cards in it.

However, it is entirely possible that this image is not to scale and is only a concept design and not an actual image of the laptop itself. But one thing is certain, this laptop is a sexy beast.

looks CGI. looks like an artistic mock-up rather than an actual photo. i'm not an expert in that stuff, just an initial reaction.

It looks a bit like a powerbook, especially with that lid opening mechanism up front. I'd say its between 14 and 16 inches, judging by the padding space around the keyboard and the slot load drive.

Its nice to see Dell ditching the old bulky plastic designs that they've become known for.
