just bought a m1210 with a 9cell battery had it for less then a week and nhc, mobile meter shows 3% wear and battery info shows 4% wear is that normal?. I discharge this laptop twice to test battery life, when I first got it the wear was 0% after I discharged it the first time it was 2% so I thought maybe nhc and battery info is reading it wrong so I discharge it again and it went up to 3%?. If I call dell and tell them that battery info and nhc shows 3% wear when I only had this laptop for like 5 days would they exchange the battery or would they laugh and say the program is wrong?

yea, stop discharging. It will only wear the battery out faster. Thats probably why your battery is wearing out so fast. For future reference, dont completely discharge the battery again.

don't trust those apps to give you perfect readings because they are in fact estimates. i wouldn't be surprised if next week you run it again and it shows 1% or something.

I had the exact same thing happen on my e1505--2% wear after only 5 or so charge cycles, then BAM, just as drumfu said I checked it a week or so there was 0% wear.

    It's just an estimate.

ok good because not only does it say 3% wear I notice that the mhw is lower then it was b4 it supposed to be 86480mwh fully charged but it shows 83439 as full capacity but the weird thing is that when its fully charged it will say that the remaining mwh is 86480 but as soon as I unplug it it will jump to 83429 and start going down from there

you are reading way too much into what it's telling you.

the only time you should be concerned is if all of a sudden it shows a 30% or 50% drop and even then it probably just means you need to discharge to recalibrate
