Optical Drives, like hard drives and other storage hardware devices, don't come with drivers! They all use the default driver from Microsoft or provided by the operating system they are operating on...
You probably mean firmware... Firmware is best explained as the operating system for the hardware...

It is a firmware update for the new Hitachi slot load drives Dell is using in the M1330's.

I believe it is only for m1330s with the GSA-S10N DVD drive. You probably have the Panasonic one...
