well after 3 replacements i screamed loud enough to get my case heard... it went to escalations dept... i also spoke to someone from corporate as well who was the one who sent this to escalations for me...the vostro 1500 is no more i sent back both i had and cancelled the third after hearing that they will only be supplying auo screens for the most part here out...

i was just so torn once again having the option of the 1720 now of going that way... i REALLY WANTED the larger screen. but alas i had to think about its real initial purpose which was my business comp that gets put on my desk every morning and comes home every night. i dont think i would have enjoyed the 1720 in the way of lugging it around though i may still regret it later i dont know.. im still torn about it...

anyway i was now able to use the 325 off coupon on the inspiron the rep gave me another 300$ credit which will be issues upon it shipping. he also then gave me the wsxga+ option at no extra charge..

i really wanted either white or blue but... i was afraid of scratching up the high gloss of the white and it always looking dirty maybe im wrong.. and i didnt want to wait a year for the blue so i settled on black and i hope i like it with the silver in the vostro it looked great being all black but imo the silver makes it appear a bit cheaper i think we'll see i guess..

    so the new config is....

    1520
    jet black
    t7500
    2gb ram
    160gb drive 7200rpm
    8600gt gpu
    cd/dvd burner
    built in bluetooth
    built in webcam
    intel wireless n
    15.4 wsxga+
6 cell and 9 cell batteries
    free case
    free overnight shipping
total after all discounts was ---
    1083.91$$

what do you guys think?? how did i do on this deal??

hope i like this better than the vostro

Well, the ESD really doesn't mean anything as all of us have found it. Either it ships incredibly before the ESD or incredibly after.

Told you to go white. :D

i know i wanted the white really bad but since i use it soooooo much and constantly move it i was afraid of damage to the glossy finish im so freakin ocd when it come to my electronics you have no idea.. it also sits on my desk at my shop all day and in view of customers i thought the black would look more presentable...it was really tough to buy the black over the white...

Well, black and white are both pretty presentable colors, although it really depends on the environment.

I still wish I got yellow though. Stupid delays. =/

Thats a good deal if you didn't get the complete care/accidental damage warranty for a couple of years

If you did get CC/AD, thats a great deal. If that includes CC/AD and tax thats an awesome deal.

    Hmmm.

Well I ordered a blue 1520 on August 17th and they called me today to see if it was ok to deliver this sat (Aug 25th) or mon (Aug 27th).

    I choose saturday of course.

Only difference is I'm ordering in Korea. Will see how that turns out.

On a side note, until a couple of weeks ago, the Korean Dell side wouldn't even let you order anything other than the wxga non-glossy (this is Korea, in the home of LG and Samsung, its up to you whether that has anything to do with the "grainy" issue, where dell is directly competing with Samungs Sens range and LG's xnote range)

Another side note. Three weeks ago, Bluetooth headphones appeared on a 1520 order for........ free!!... Vindication for those complaining about headphone noise???? Maybe! Even more interesting is the fact that as of last week they aren't free anymore....... Has Dell fixed the problem??
