i've had my I6000 for just over 2 years as a gift for my 18th and for university, but i got one of those non-explosive batteries from the the dell recall about a year ago, i've read this forum's battery guide and discovered i wasn't treating my battery well at all, it used to last 3 hours, no it won't even last 30mins, as soon as i take it off the mains the orange low battery light comes on, anyways
where is the best place to get a new battery, even an unofficial one because the dell website is quite expensive and i would like to get one cheaper?
ebay?
amazon?
...
all help appreciated.

def ebay or anywhere online except dell lol.. in some case batteries can be revived by doing a long charge cycle. i mean leaving it to charge for 30hrs or longer. depends on how far gone the battery is..

I would like to purchase some batteries for a couple of Dell notebooks. Dell is very expensive, but there is something to be said about OEM batteries. I thought about E-Bay, but am very scared to order off of E-Bay after reading about counterfeit batteries that look identical to the factory ones. When I saw a picture of a guy who bought a counterfeit battery that blew up in his notebook, I got cold feet on that idea. His face was badly scarred.

thanks for the help, does the 30hour charge require the laptop to be off?

I don't know if it is true but I heard you can also put it in a freezer for 1 day to bring it back -
I bought a bettery online for an Inspiron 6400, paid 50% of the Dell price. Battery works fine, gives me 3:30h life time. Seller ID was portablecomponents
