Hi,
Just noticed a new inspiron on the dell malaysia website, the 1427 with a geforce 9300GS.....interesting!
-
-
Nice find! Good to see something different than Intel integrated on the Inspirons. Still waiting on these models to pop up in the US.
-
isnt it odd that they're not offering the inspiron 15 with a 9300gs as well? more power in the 14 inch variant, thats a joke lol!
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
-
Probably a model that will not be seen in the US market. Unfortunate, since there hasn't been a proper successor, Studio or otherwise, to the Inspiron 1420.
-
i dont see why not, the 1420 is getting a bit dated now. they have already replaced the 1525 havent they?
-
Is the 9300 better than the 8400 that was in the 1420?
-
it still has the old 965 chipset...
-
some of the specs on the site seem to be inconsistent. i think the 965 is a mistake. on the specs page it says it has a 8400, but when you click to customise it says 9300gs
-
The Inspiron 1427 looks amazingly like an OEM laptop.
here is the same model of laptop I bought before in a local shop at my hometown (indonesia)
and here is the inspirion
-
you're right, there is an uncanny similarity lol. studio 14 and inspiron 14 both look like pretty decent units though, albeit very similar feature wise. interesting that dell decided to go with a discrete graphics card, but dint with the inspiron 15.
-
i just bought it today in Indonesia
actually. my original target was either Asus u80v or MSI GX403, tbh, this is my 1st ever windows based latop ( been a mac user for almost 7 years ), before i went on to buy this little dude, i checked a couple of Dell models and learn that their higher end product is actually XPS series ( or at least one of the beast model ), and been thinking to put my hands on it too
yeah i dont know how did i ended up in buying Aspiron 1427 instead, it's like so far away from my original plan to buy a 14incher 1/2 gaming notebook, maybe i was being hypnotized by the seller 0_o
after learning that 9300m GS is actually even < than the HD 4570 from u80v and wayyyyy even less from the GT130M from MSI GX403. and further more 9300m GS is categorized as a class 3 Notebook graphic card.. i was even more being let down by that fact
on the other i was actually kinda surprised on the 3d mark score, i get like around 3500ish, on notebookcheck, they only score 2191 from Thinkpad SL400 2743-22U ( the highest they get, but their vga is 256mb )
ok the 9300 on Inspiron have 512mb, but still, compared to even the 4570, it's still a very downgrade from the plan i've had in mind in the 1st place
please convince me that i did not buy the wrong notebook
and could still do a decent gaming with it..
well, actually gaming were never the main priority here, but of course, i would love to still do some medium gaming like say DMC4, or MMORPGs -
Wait, hold on a sec.. this isn't the refreshed Inspiron 14 that was released a while ago. I haven't even heard of this one. This doesn't look half bad.
Too bad they didn't use a G210M instead. It only uses 1 more watt than the 9300M GS and has less than half the idle power usage so would run cooler but be comparable to a 4570.
Any links to this? -
yea i think this is the latest from Dell
as the seller told me, they just received it from Singapore like a week ago
and only begun selling in Indonesia
it's not even on Dell's website yet
here's a local link
http://www.bhinneka.com/products/sku00309399/dell_inspiron_1427_(f456r)_-_black.aspx
i know, it's a shame that they didn't put a slightly better medium end VGA to it
9400 would have been a bit sweet,
oh well, here, i just installed The Last Remnant and with default settings, amazingly run pretty smooth at 53 fps average
looks like this 1427 is up for a medium gaming experience after all -
well its a nice lower cost alternative to the studio 14 i suppose?
-
well, there are alot of alternatives actually, but yeah, it's safe to say so
i just tried Street Fighter 4 with all medium settings, dont work well
i only get around 21fps...
but other than that, this lappie works real great for it's price -
i've been wondering, how come this Dell Inspiron 1427 does not exist so well on the markets like any other new laptops does? it's been out for almost 2 months
it's not even on all laptop reviews site, not a single reviewer have made a review on this Dell Inspiron 1427 yet
anyone know anything about it?
more over, it's not even on any Dell's website anymore even the Asian's one ( heard that 1427 only hits Asian
have they ( Dell ) decided to pull back this product or something? -
1427 was introduced roughly 6mths ago... if i'm not wrong, here in Singapore's year beginning I.T show. But the sales response was not good due to higher price tag, even though it was clearly stated that the gear comes with dedicated NVIDIA GPU. @ the price of SGD$1399, there was clearly other options available from other makers.
The picture above was taken from the tech sales fair mentioned(i could recognize that blue bag in the background).
-
then anyone know why hasn't notebookreview review on this product yet?
the cost have now been lowered to roughly US$999
and with the spec you get, it's really a bargain
not that i want to whine so much, but, really, the reception of this Inspiron is so disappointing, i was expecting more reviews for this product
new inspiron, 1427!
