    hello everyone,
    today i bought the dell inspiron 15r (3rd gen).
    i would like to know what things i should do so that my laptop works amazing for long time.
    this is my first laptop, so dont know a thing about what care i need to take, update software , etc.
    it would be really helpful if i got some useful advice from experienced users over here.

    Well there is nothing special you can do except be careful. Just basic stuff.

    Ps. Dont overclock is the only advice i have if you want long life on
    the gpu

    thank you for your advice. can you please tell me what overclocking is & how to do it? (just for my information sake...)
    can you please also give me advice in doing some initial settings?
    i dunno anything about laptops since this is my first one.
    i own a desktop that too with win xp.
    so i am basically new to windows 7 as well.
    your sincere advice would be of real help to me.

    If you want your battery last longer, pull it out when you are using the charger. Try to eat carefully when so food won't fall into the keyboard. Same goes for drinking. Don't shack it or put it heavy on the tablet. Don't dang it against the wall, son chew on it. Use it on a hard surface...

    Yeah don't leave it on the bed either, it will get clogged with dust, and overheat eventually
