If running Vista, are you on the High Performance power plan? Check by holding your mouse over the battery icon in the taskbar and click on it to change

I have a question relating to this Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. How can I find out the "169.09"? I tried to use Laptop2togo.com to update the driver. It's not working. Can anyone help me?

Like kozzney said, you need to make sure you're on High Performance mode so the system doesn't downclock to save battery life. However, this will cause a huge hit to battery life, so it's not recommended at all.
