I was playing BF2 when it came on and off for a while then stayed on .
Thought it was a new bug .. err sorry feature of the new patch but it doesnt want to go away .
The line is vertical yellow all the way from the top to the bottom splitting the screen , of course my Dell warranty just expired a week ago or so .
Can anyone tell me what it is ?

realy bad case of stuck pixels
-
Just searched again with other words and found its probably a lcd dump whatever that means its unrepairable .
This make me revaluate my Dell quality , I knew the screen wasn't top notch since day one ( white spot , light leakage , not bright enough ) but didn't think it will go to the bin so fast .
I also had dead pixel come early on , maybe if I had been more picky and demand some sort of extended warranty or a replacement screen .. -
This is ironic... I hear on Dell forums ALOT of people who only did the 1 yr warrenty options... just a month or 2 after it expires.. something goes wrong.. yours included now..
Makes me REALLY wonder whats going on here like if Dell is making hardware that is cheaper or something.. cause I am hearing alot of breakdowns...
Makes you wonder.. if it was a stuck pixel.. you could try searching the web for Stuck Pixel fixer or so, basically it flashes the RGB or try to unstick the pixels.. but thats normally for 1 or a couple.. a solid line like this.. ouch. -
Why don't you call Dell? I bet they warranty it for you.
-
if the line stays there all the time, your LCD needs to be replaced.
just out of curiosity, did you overclock your vidcard? -
That's probably because those people who got 3 year warranty just calls dell and make them repair it... No reason for complaining/whining if it's going to be fixed...
-
dell doesn't make computers, computer parts or anything. dell has no manufacturing facilities. they buy parts from the same manufacturers that all other companies do. then they pay people to put them together. there are only a few places that can meet the demand for components for companies like dell, ibm, hp, whatever so all the dells, ibms, hps, whatevers have to buy from them.

Mysticales already tried that program , it doesn't work or that you need to run it for a very long time , anyway I wasn't to upset about the stuck pixel altough my old 14" Toshiba works for several years without any screen problem .
At the age of 3 the Toshiba was brighter then the new Dell but again as long as it worked I was not going to complain about anything .
drumfu partly like I stated in my review , the card can be run at 299/500 with the video2go drivers , I'm not sure if its not running that speed anyway but I didn't go beyond that , just the default option .
dudesdudets while I'm not so happy with my Dell now as I was just a day ago I think you are right . -
Broken LCD tab. Nothing much you can do. There's a real slim chance jugling the tabs a bitcould make a difference. Slim, like in 5%

Yoda I want to learn , teach me master .
I wanted to take this sucker apart for a long time but didn't dare to , now I got a real excuse . -
what type of screen do you have?
-
You're looking for these black tabs.
Also, it would seem I forgot to mention that the chance of destroying your screen entirely is abuot as big as fixing it
-
NOSintake WXGA but I saw thread of WUXGA case as well .
oops better not try it out just yet , anyway I contacted Dell before the warranty expired about the screen but left it open , maybe that will help .
Either that or a new laptop ( screen is 500$ and I didnt like it from day one ) or maybe changing the desktop background to yellow ?
oh, I got a thin yellow line on my screen
