i just checked my bank account...and the purchase from dell has erased. i purchased the m1530 friday the 18th. the "pending" charge is now gone, nothing is there from dell.
and just today i recieved the lojack software. my expected ship date was 2/5/08.
guys, what is going on?!!!
-
They will take the money out later.
Just check order status @ dell, and the order should be there. If that one is cancelled, then you should start calling. -
You must have been one of the winners from the "Win Your Dell Contest!" Lucky You!
-
I've never seen a pending charge just disappear on me before. the status still says "in production"
i ordered this over the phone. its not in my dell login account. but i do have a dell purchase ID which i can see the status.
oh and, i got the contact from someone on this board. she hooked me up with the EPP, but i didn't think she was exactly that great...she didn't respond to e-mails or messages i left on her voice mail. this seems bogus -
they maybe varifying funds before starting build... you'll get charged once it ships.
-
whos funds? this was a check card, i have plenty of money. anyone ever see this before? this isn't my first large purchase on the internet but who knows.
thanks for the replys.
btw, the FULL charge was there but in the pending category of my bank account online. its now completely gone. -
Maybe, they put a "pending hold on your card" and it dropped off after a few days? With my bank, pending holds for transactions/authorizations are only allowed for 5 days, then they drop off & will be put thru again. Sometimes, when you run your charge when getting gas or something, it put's a temporary hold on your account for a few days, drops off and then the transaction actually goes thru.
I'm wondering, if your notebook is about to be processed & invoiced? And, maybe it will go thru the soon than the later, now? This could be a good thing!!
And, if you have already received your LoJack, I would assume that your notebook will soon follow? (At least, that is what happened w/mine)
Call Dell & ask it won't hurt! Or get online w/Chat that way you will get a e-mailed transaction of the conversation & a case number, etc.
Hoping this helped you! -
Bank was just showing that Dell is now authorized to take the money. Dell will take the money when the system ships.
I've seen it happen few times on my account. Relax. -
yes thank you. a part of me wants to maybe see what happens
but this could cause me more trouble than anything. how late is the chat open for? i was just on my way out the door too....is this a need to do thing right now? -
NO IT ISN'T, but whatever make you happy right?
-
OK OK!!!
what makes me happy is a smooth transaction, especially when theres a large amount of money involved, sorry for being concerned. thank for the help.
i just remembered...i purchased 2 desktops about 1.5 months ago, this did not happen. -
I think Dell Chat is open late tonight, so if you wanted to to inquire w/them it may not be a bad idea?? Or, just give them a call!
They may or may not be able to give you an answer - but at least it doesn't hurt to try, and may help w/your concerns right now!
I know how you feel about $$$ & this type of transaction... -
Same thing happened to me, I was hoping for a free computer ;
My roommates and I took bets on when/if the money would come out, it was fun. -
-
Never use a "check card" to make large purchase over the internet. Check cards do not have the same protections as regular credit cards in case something goes wrong.
-
The same exact thing happend to me today lol. I was about to freak out too. I kept checking to make sure that my order was still in place and not canceled. Then later today I saw that it was shipped.
-
thanks for the advice.
this "delay" just never happened to me. -
OK this happened to me last year - my order disappeared. I waited a while because I was in no hurry, and it literally fell off the face of the earth. My order had no record, was completely gone (even though I got the confirmation email), etc! I wasn't charged of course so I didn't care.
-
-
I didn't get a free laptop, if that's what you thought. The order was gone completely so I got nothing and was charged nothing.
-
This is normal. The first charge is just a hold. Then they charge you properly on invoice date. which is usually like a day before shipping.
-
Just wait until you get the laptop.
If there still a issue, call dell
ok, im in freak out mode
