some of you know i have been through 4 systems now all with bad screens.. either auo or sec's... i called and gave dell hell for this and at first i told them i wanted to cancel.. i wanted a refund, i called got a rma reference number and sent the sec3350 equipped system on its way out the door... the next day i got a call from dell escalation group since thats who i have been dealing with from the second system.... they asked why i was cancelling and why i was not happy THIS TIME.. he said i see you have been through 2 1500's and now 2 1520's.. i said yup and the screens sucked on all of them.. they were terrible..
so we spoke more and i was offered yet another (this was the third one) discount to not cancel and let dell send out a replacment for me to try... dell knows i would poss be ordering 7-8 more systems for my business if they can get their act together this was the honest truth.. we need to update all of our shop systems which are toshiba laptops now.. anyhow...
i called wed the day after speaking with them since i told them i would take the night to decide and said okay ill try one more system ON THE ONE CONDIDITON that i get the lfpl300 lg screen this time.. he said i can not gaurantee that but i will see what i can do.. he took the part number and the model number which i was requesting and said he would look into it.. now it being the following monday i had yet to see a new order number in my dell.com account i was like wtf i called in not very happy wondering what was going on.. the escalations rep i normally deal with was off today do i spoke with a reg case manager not a reg csr..
they said we see this order needed higher level authority to process due to the requests in the notes.. i asked what requests, she said there is a note on the lfpl screen which it says you requested, the reg csr and managers can not process this type of request so it had to be done by higher authority this was done on friday. so now my order being held up for a few days they swear ill still see it within the 8 day promised time frame which im not thinking will happen but she did say that it looks like they did try to process my request for the specific screen i asked for.. so i guess if this is true that will be a great thing and then this could be a solution (again if this was really done which i will know in a few more days) for those that continue to get the crap screens.. ill keep this updated as to what happens... as i always say ask for escalations even if they tell you they cant put you with them make it so they have to trust me they get things done.. ill let you all know how this goes down

You need to clarify to these new guys that you made an arrangement with the previous Dell rep, not a request. I have dealt with these kinds of issues before. Be firm but polite.

man. i'm so in the same boat as you have been, zfactor. i tried and tried to get them to put an lg in the screen of the 1520 they are sending me. no luck. i hope things work out for you!

if this works ill pm you with all the direct number and extensions of who i spoke with in escalations maybe if you speak to them (again if they come through with this) maybe you can do the same thing
