    Hi all,

I reformatted an old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop in my house without any problem save one - the wireless driver on the Dell website does NOT work. Googling this problem leads me to believe that I am not the only one with it. However I have not seen anyone with a solution; most people are just linked to the Dell website and the Dell driver, which doesn't work at all.

I've tried it several times. I've even reinstalled windows. I've redownloaded the driver. The damn thing installs, but the Intel program doesn't think there's a wireless adaptor in the computer (there is; it worked before I reformatted). Can't figure it out.

    Please help?

well i recently formated a friends inspiron 6000 and i opened to check the wlan card ( the card wanst working) and took it out and place it back in. and downloaded the dell wireless driver and install it then it worked.

so i recomend you to open the laptop ( it was easy ) take out the card see if is not damage and then put it back in. the reinstall the dell wireles driver or the intel one.

2 different wireless cards are/were used in DELL products. Intel as well as Broadcom. Are you able to determine if you had installed the wrong one? Via hardware manager i mean?
