    Hi, when I insert a cd or dvd into my optical drive I hear it running but nothings comes up or the cd appears in the computer section,am I doing something wrong?I have vista premium,thx in advance

    ps Also when I plug a thumb drive the computer does not do anything

    Does it never appear in Computer at all?
    or does it just not pop up a window?

    If it's not appearing at all, I'd call Dell.
