    Hi everybody,

I would like to consult you guys on this:

A week ago I ordered some accessories for my laptop from Dell online. I chose 3-5 business day delivery. 4 days after the order I checked my status online and the order was still in production. When I checked the details it said that some accessories from my order are BACKORDERED and I HAVE TO WAIT 3 (THREE!) months for the delivery! I wrote e-mail to Dell saying that I was not informed about backorder situation while making the purchase and that this is not acceptable for me. I demanded that they check what reasonable delivery date is available or I want to cancel my order. That was yesterday and they have not responded yet.

I pretty much decided to cancel the purchase (I don’t believe they will ship it soon) but I can not find any Dell's cancellation policy and I don't know whether I have a right to do it and whether I would have to pay any cancellation fee? The order has not been billed yet.

Could you please give me some advice what to do exactly?

    thank you in advance

    zxc

You have the right to cancel. Just call them and tell them you want to cancel.

I think that too but could there be any "legal" problems or could they charge me a cancellation fee?

every minute you waste posting in a forum asking about the problem is a minute closer to the transaction getting to a point where you can't cancel w/out a restocking fee.

    call them and cancel.

You can cancel before the order ships with no cost to you. They won't hassle you about it.

    thank you.
I had to cancel all order (only one thing that I had to wait) and the price for other items already changed so I'm not buying anything from them now :(

    thx again
