Hi I ordered a vostro 1710 on May 31st(that's yesterday) at Dell UK.

A whole day has passed and when I check my order statu, this shows up

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
We’re unable to give you an update at the moment.

    This may be because:

    * We need to finish processing your order.
    * You may have entered the wrong Internet Receipt number or Email address.
    * If you have paid by Cheque or wire transfer, we may not have received your payment yet*.

    Please try again later.

For answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions please go to www.dell.uk/help

    * Note! It can take up to 4 working days after you made your payment before we receive the money in our bank account and are able to process it.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

I used a visa debit card to make the purchase, when I checked my bank account online, I found that my balance wasn't enough, but if I include my overdraft, it shouldn't be an issue.

I always thought electronic payments are instantaneus? Is there something wrong?

When you've received your Dell Order Confirmation email try again with you Order number and Customer Number. You will get that message if the site doesn't recognise the codes you've entered.

The first email you get will have the internet order number and this hardly ever works. What you have to wait for is the Order Confirmation email with the attached Order and T&Cs pdfs and then you can either click on the link in the email or use the proper Order No. and Customer No to track the order. Remember, actually processing of the order takes place Mon-Fri.

I thought dell is always keen on taking the money, so they process the order right away. Thanks for clearing my mind, I'm just too excited about this new laptop. +rep

Its weekend so i would presume those that are in the Production stage (like mine) have been built and tested at least but i'm not sure about the whole boxing thing. At which point to they track the boxes? because if its built and tested already shouldn't it be boxed?
