Hi, I`m planning on ordering a mini from the outlet. I have a week off soon and would like try to be home for delivery. Is it possible to get delivery of an outlet notebook within 7-10 days of ordering?

    Thanks

Mine only took a week from order to delivery myself. Ordered on a Wednesday night, received it the following week on Thursday. If anything, outlet ships faster than regular due to the fact that it's already made and whatnot.

    The outlet is super fast.
Order Monday morning with NBD and it is possible you'll get it on Tuesday...Unlikely though :( but for sure you would get it Wednesday ;)

I ordered from the outlet on the 24th, it was sent to the UPS facility on the 25th. Dell had estimated the system would arrive on the 2 April. It was delivered to me on 27 March... and that was with the free 3-5 day shipping which used FedEx Home.

Just wanted to post a follow up note. Placed my order on the 12th and it was delivered today (4/15) mini 10 from the outlet, previously ordered new. Beautiful condition, got jade green because only other choice was pink. Sticker on back only says thank you for ordering from the outlet. Had an issue with connecting to the internet but was able to resolve it after a long process with dell support. Tried yahoo messenger and downloaded some pictures, all worked great. This mini is primarily for a trip to Italy so I can stay in touch while traveling. It seems to be exactly what I need. Thanks for all the input.

Shouln't have ordered on a friday. I still haven't receive my e6400 yet from the outlet. Received a ship email for Dell on Saturday but I called Dell on Tuesday and was told it wouldn't be here until thursday. Guess what, seems Fedex made an "Attempted delivery today" I should say attempted because the person did not knock or ring the door bell. :( When I receive packages from UPS , they let you know they are there to delivery something. Now I have to wait until Friday and I'm already one week into the 21 days return policy

well I guess I got a bit unlucky with the delivery time. I ordered my e6400 on 4/13 with the 3-5 business day shipping. Fedex finally updated the delivery status this morning and it shows that it's on a vehicle for delivery. Unfortunately, I'm going to a baseball game right after work and probalby won't be home until after 11:00. well, hopefully I can get it wednesday =)

Wouldn't the 21 day return policy go into affect AFTER dell received confirmation that you got your laptop? It's not your fault that the package was delayed by the delivery company

The clock starts at the time that it is shipped, so if it is delayed in transit, it counts toward the number of days in the return policy.

On a separate note, has anyone heard of Dell changing the method of shipping from the one that you selected?

I ordered a laptop early Monday morning online from Dell Outlet and when I received the confirmation, it showed "Next Business Delivery" and I know that I selected the free shipping option. I sent customer service an email immediately and then called them later during the customer service hours.

Customer service told me that it had already shipped, so I was out of luck and would have to pay $69.00 for the upgraded shipping cost. Even if I decide to return the unit, I have to pay the shipping.

I spoke to a "supervisor" and received the same response. I then contacted "unresolved issues" and they told me "tough luck".

I have sent another email, but it appears that I am going to have to pay.

I understand that I am getting the computer in one day, but I have a problem with placing an order and receiving something that I did not order and then having no recourse in dealing with the issue.

I have purchased many times from Dell, personally, and through work. I have never requested overnight shipping. I am very disappointed in this order, as well as the lack of avenues available in addressing the issue.

Update: Dell contacted me today after I filed a complaint with the BBB in Austin and they are refunding the additional charges for next day shipping.

It is unfortunate that it was necessary to file a complaint, but at least, they resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I still do not understand why the shipping was changed from the original requested shipping?

Interesting. I got my E6400 in two days, even though it said three day shipping. They used Fedex this time.

UPS took five days to do it when I ordered another Dell laptop some time ago.

Yes UPS is slower than fedex ;)
Fedex is my favorite out of UPS, DHL, and USPS ;)

Mine took 2 days literally. Ordered one wednesday morning and got it friday afternoon. I was like ? It was on 3-5 day shipping. Dells shipping is very very good, however, I can't say the same about the customer service. They need more tech savy guys!

Just remember dell isn't really the one that is the carrier :p
They do ship out their units fast but the carrier is what ships them ;)

People are always saying newegg is so great cause they ship so fast but it's really the carrier ;)

Hey guys, I ordered my E6400 on monday night (or tuesday morning aka past 12 AM) but it still hasn't arrived and it's currently thursday. I know they estimate a delivery date later than that (5/6/09 for me) but I assumed it should be here by now according to how everyone else's shipping went. i live in San Diego California.

    Any reason why?

It was already "shipped" the morning after I ordered it, but that's all I can see on the status.

    The rest is unknown:

    Shipping Method: 3-5 Business Days
    Shipped Date: Data Temporarily Unavailable
    Estimated Delivery Date: 5/6/2009
    Carrier: Data Temporarily Unavailable
    Tracking Number: Data Temporarily Unavailable

I'm being impatient but i'm anxious for my laptop ^.^

Anyway, do they update the page? I mean on newegg orders or other orders I can track where it's at, like Texas, or elsewhere, but I can't see any info on this shipment.

Also, I paid $779.24 USD according to paypal, but on the dell page it says I only payed $739.24 ... any reason why?

The outlet has some tracking number update issue so you'll never get your tracking number unless you call and as for it ;)
You must have payed $40 for shipping because the unit itself cost $739.24
The +$40 is the shipping I suppose

It can't be shipping because I had free shipping. The order itself cost more than it states on dell. I'm just worried should I return this and thy wouldn't give me a full refund.

Hmm... there was another person who was charged $69 for next day shipping when he was supposed to get free 3-5 day shipping which is what he had picked. You should call dell about this matter and see what the deal is ;)
