    hey i bought a dell studio 1537 with a p8400 2.26 ghz and im pretty sure it can go higher, but im wondering can u over clock cpus on laptops? and does anyone have a link on how to?

    ive read this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3000755 but im wondering is that for just the gpu? and is the intel 4500 mhd overclockable? cuz thats the gpu i have...

    as for cpu overclocking i dont think its possible because the multipliers are locked. and even if you could it would not be recommended because excess heat would shorten the life of your laptop.

    To make a long story short: you can't overclock. Pretty much end of story. RivaTuner only works on the GPU, but I'm pretty sure that the X4500 is not supported either.
