    packaging from dell....

    so I've got an i6000 on the way from dell, and it says it's been made and tested and all and the only thing that's left is packaging...my question is: how long does this take? It doesn't seem like it would be too long, but the ship date is like august 13th or something...is this just Dell covering their asses in case something happens and it ships really late, or does it really take that long?

    do you mean "boxing" ?

    boxing is the plane ride over from malaysia to texas. from there it goes to the local carrier who delivers it to your house.

    i don't think dell has a packaging stage on their website

    no..that's wrong...u should get it within 1 week or so...because i ordered mine on June 14th..and it said that the shipping date was June 29th...and that the delivery was July 4th..and that was not the case since i got it on june 21st

    Yes, i ordered mine sunday, it was estimated ship date was agust 1st, now delivery date is august 2nd or tuesday, so its about a week.

    I ordered mine very late tuesday night and the ship date was the 8th of august. After reading these post I decided to check dell.com and my order has already been shipped. I had been expecting to have to wait up to two weeks. Many people I know who have ordered dells in the past have told me to make sure I ordered as soon as possible if I needed it by a certain date because they don't ship for weeks. I guess this isn't always the case, of course I am not complaining. :)
