    Hi,
I just got my inspiron 6400 with vista premium preloaded and I want to separate the 100GB C: partition into a vista partition and a data partition. I googled around and found that the only compatible partition software for vista is the disk management console(right click computer->manage). I deleted the page file and disabled the system restore and managed to shrink it to 50GB (don't know how to shrink more) and then there's a 50GB unlocated partition.
The problem is that we I tried to creat a "simple partition" but a message popped out saying that "there is not enough space in the disk(s) for this operation". so I changed the assigned space to a few GB and the same dialog box came out again.
BTW, my harddrive is already divided to 4 partitions, diagnostics partition, big C:, recovery partition, and media direct
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks! :)
