Have you cranked up the fonts? Try that first, then set the resolution higher.
You do realize that when you put an LCD in a non native resolution it will get blurry, right? -
yea i noticed that it was little blurry. but i can read everything now haha. before it was on the native reso + on the large font settings (120dpi) but some words are still a little small.

I had to bump up the DPI on my T42 a hair to be more useable for me. You can go higher than 120dpi which should make the text larger but allow you to stay at the native resolution.

I have a XPS Gen. 2, it has the same LCD as the WUXGA i9300's. I run it at its native resolution with no problems. Though I had to get used to running Windows at a high resolution as my desktop at work was running at some resolution larger than 19xx (sorry, can't remember) and we couldn't change the resolutions.
If you don't mind the blurriness then it should be OK for you. I couldn't stand the bluriness running Windows out of the native resolution (though games are fine). I think WUXGA on a 17 inch LCD looks fine though I think that would be pushing it on a 15.4 inch LCD (like the i6000). -
yea i changed my resolution. its a little bigger than the native but its not blurry at all. if you guys want the size its 1680 x 1050. you have to add the resolution in yourself. but it works. everything is good

I've been experimenting since I got my 9300...and think I found the right combo now.
My desktop is 1920x1200...as I couldnt deal with the blurryness of running the non-native resolution.
I kicked my screens dpi all the way up to 144 (150% normal size) in DisplayProperties/Settings/Advanced/General
Once this was done...there is no need to change your font size. Mine is set on normal in the Display/appearance tab.
I also highly recommend using Firefox instead of IE...as it handles higher resolutions much, much better. You could then go to Firefox's options and pump the font size up for the web as well.
Much easier on the eyes during everyday use...and I get the sharpness of the 1920x1200.
My only complaint is some apps (PhotoshopCS) seem to be uneffected by the dpi increase and thier menu text are still extremely small. -
thats cool. yea i tried your settings too my photoshop was a little screwed up too. i guess all these reso does kinda work w/e you want to feel. lol now the hard part is to find a good wallpaper that fits these resolution
