    As expected, the 1000 is in every way inferior to the 1500, but there are upsides. Due to the lower quality shell it is much lighter, the battery is smaller making it lighter yet again. The screen is nice, not as nice as my 1500 but still good. I like the 1000, its a good alternative to the $350's and $450 laptops always on sale at circuit city and best buy.

    thanks for the pics ...i just knoticed that the vostro 1000 looks almost the same as the inspiron 1501 except for the color
