    hello everybody

i really liked the spec. of the new Dell XPS studio 1640

i have HP and i know that if i want to format it all what i have to do is to go to the recovery manager in the program list and do it from there to restore the image (original sitting when came from the factory) it does the format and reinstall of everything automatically

i want to know if Dell comes with something like that. do they have a recovery partition like HP? does it have a recovery manager?

    please help.

    thanks

When you restore your HP using your recovery software, you're not really "formatting" it. You're simply loading a disk image that reflects the machine's software configuration out of the factory. That being said, Dell does have a system that allows you to restore your computer to its factory settings, though I don't think too many people here use it.

answer to your question: yes they do, they also include recovery discs.

In my opinion, HP offers nice price and performance, but their design sucks. If you ask me to separate their laptops into class/model I can never do it. Why? most of their design seems to be the same. so again, HP is kind of bad when it comes to designing....just my opinion though
