i'm confused. when i look at the inspiron page it says under the "express yourself" tab that you can add an optional premium (microsatin) finish. i saw no option to do this and i specifically looked for it.
on the first 1420 i ordered i choose spring green. in the email confirmation it was listed as
320-5529 Premium Metallic Green with Soft Touch LCD back color
i asked the rep on the phone later what this meant and why it didn't say spring green and he just blew me off and said there was only one green.
i ended up cancelling that order and reordering through the epp site. again, no option to choose a premium finish and my confirmation email says this time:
320-5529 Spring Green
same part number. what gives? will i be getting the premium microsatin finish? does everyone get this?
thanks

yes u will

Anything other than black or white is the microsatin finish. There is only one version of each color, doesn't matter if it's called green or spring green, it's the same.
-
All of your orders for the Green is the MicroSatin...every color other than Black or White is MicroSatin - you canceled for no reason...
-
if you're talking to me, that is not why i cancelled it. i cancelled it because i ended up buying it through the epp site instead.

whats microsatin
whats better no microsatin or with? -
microsatin is like a rubbery thing that prevents fingerprints from stinking up your top
-
so that means the black and white one is reflective?
-
I believe the white is glossy yes, and the black is just a matte black finish
-
The black matte seems to be the same material used on the XPS M1210, so it will be very prone to fingerprints. This microsatin seems to be resistant, though. I think it's worth the extra $20.
