    it been in preproduction ever since any idea why it has not went to building oh im in the us

    Which model did you order?

    In which country do you reside? From experience, I can tell you that Dell Canada does not update their order status page that quickly.

    Also, it could be in pre-production due to lack of parts. Technically speaking, everyone's notebooks should be in pre-production if parts are missing. As long as you're past "Order Processing", you are fine. That is because you know your method of payment has been validated.

    Very true. Parts shortages are the biggest reason for delays at a manufacturing plant.
