    Hi everyone,

    I have purchased a new dell 6400

    specs are

    Inspiron 6400 Intel Pentium dual-core T2080(1MB Cache/1.73GHz/533MHz FSB
LCD Panel 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™(glossy)

Memory 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM

Video Card Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Hard Drive 160GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive

Operating System (Office software not included) Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Basic

Now the problem is that i have hardly used it for 3-4 hrs since it came, and i have noticed that the screen goes black for 1/10 of a second after some time (probably around 2 times in an hour)....

is it because of vista...or my graphics card...please help guys....further my lappy is very slow...

one more thing..i did not got any bill with my laptop..how do i approach dell..to rectify this problem..do they ask for any bill number..???

    ~thanks in advance....

Have you checked your power settings to see if the screen is set to turn off after a certain period of inactivity?

You can blame that on all the crapware Dell installs for you.

If you bought the laptop from Dell, all you need is the service tag # on the bottom of your laptop. Their number is on the Dell website.
