Might help if you posted more information...
Like maybe your specs and the version of Quickset for starters!
I love how people think other people are mind readers or something and wonder why their questions go unanswered... -
sorry....
i thought about it but ended up thinking it didn't really matter
its a 1520 with
t7300
8600m gt

and latest version of quickset

OEM Ver : 8.2.14

I don't think anyone knows.
You've got the latest Quickset.
Do you get the same problem when you try adjusting volume, etc, without using the media buttons? -
nope, it's just the media buttons
-
I did a clean install of Vista and put all the drivers back on EXCEPT QuickSet and everything works fine. I'm not really sure what QuickSet does except take up precious resources to give you the on screen volume and brightness bars.
Try removing QuickSet all together and see if it still happens. -
alright, well i uninstalled quickset, and I get the same problem so i guess thats not it....
also, when my computer locks up, i can still move my mouse around and stuff but i cant click anything
i can also ctrl+alt+delete and open task manager, which opens up and is blank -
You can also look in control panel.. there is a performance or reporting icon there and it will let you know what locked up last and what issues your computer is going through. I don't remember the exact wording, and too lazy to break out the laptop to look, but it is in the control panel. That will provide some info and sometimes links to fix the issue.
