I am giving some demos and have hooked up a tv with the e1705 and the Vista mobility center. After doing this, my laptop screen no longer extends the full 17" width. I'm only seeing a 15" width. This happens even after I detach the tv and change the display settings. Any advice on how to get it back to the original 17" width after I'm finished with the tv hookup?

Try pressing Fn+F8, it usually works for me.

Great idea. I can tell it tries to give me a choice but it still didn't fix the width problem, with or without the tv hooked up.

    Any other ideas?

What resolution does the screen appear to be stuck in and which graphics card does your computer have?

1024 x 768. Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile. I hope that latter is the correct name of the graphics card.

Namaiki - you're a genius!! It was set to aspect resolution and I changed it to full screen (no borders) and then changed the display settings and now all is well!

    Thank you SO much,

    Susan
