why isn't my laptop reading my firewire card. i have inspiron 640m. from the looks of it, it looks like the card won't go in its card slot deep enough. only about half of the card goes in. also the card has a light on that suppose to light up but it not.

I had the same issue with my pcmcia ethernet adaptor. It only goes in halfway and the light does not go on. I then realised that something was extremely wrong. The card simply does not fit in the slot, leading me to believe that it isn't actually a pcmcia slot? All that happens when you push it in and out is that you hear the click, and thats it. I would also like this cleared up, anyone?
