    problem with xps m1210 cd rom

    hi i am new over here :)
    i am having problems with my xps m1210's cd rom...
    whenever i insert a cd and copy anything on the HD, my computer laggs. this happens when i burn on cd's too.
    what can i do to solve this :confused:

    no that's not the problem, this wasn't happening before... and i have 2gb of ram

    Set it to High-performance (on Vista), or the equivalent on XP.

    Control Panel > Power Options.

    Can you tell us your XPS M1210's spec ?

    same as yours but only 2 gb of ram.. and 120 gb toshiba hd

    Did you enable UDMA in Device Manager ? Installed newest chipset driver ? Updated to newest DVD drive's firmware ?
