Lets say I buy the inspiron 1521 with AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core processor TL-50 (1.6GHz/512KB), can I somehow how buy the AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (2.0GHz/1MB), from dell spare parts later and some how replace it? could you do this with the inspiron 1520 processors (maybe the motherboard with the dedicated graphics)?

as far as i know you can't upgrade the processor later on a computer. on some models you can but its really not advised. why not just upgrade right away? and then you don't have to worry about it

Technically it is possible but would definitely void your warranty with Dell.

Although there are ways around the computer to get the cpu the answer is no. Unless you are extremely capable with computers and know what you're doing then it's impossible. Better off just buying you're computer with a better cpu now, and if money is an issue downgrade something that is easy to add or upgrade later like ram, hard drive or even the optical drive.

replacing/upgrading a CPU can be done on a Dell laptop as i have done it before. but due to how the laptops are designed, it is not an easy thing to do. you would have to virtually disassemble the entire laptop removing keyboard and more importantly the heatsink. the heatsink is a crucial part of any laptop that i would advise no amateur to mess around with. so in short, yes you can replace it but i would suggest you just upgrade now and shell out the money so later on you dont have to do it yourself.
