I have got a dell d410's tag number. I want to check its configurations before buying.
Where should I insert this tag (on dell site) to see its specifications?

There is where you can put the E value code: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/evalue?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn

what do you mean by tag number? If the laptop is already built, I'm going to assume you are meaning the express code or service tag. If that is the case, you can create a dell account, and add it to "my system and peripherals." This will give you the warranty information and you check the orginial configuration.
The link that nick posted is for coupons.

yes. the sevice tag. thank you.

okay good. I was worried that I might not understand your problem. Unfortunately, that is the only way I know of to check the orginial components of a system. I would suggest you can try calling dell, but they probably won't give you the information.

I submitted my service tag in product search area and there were 13 part numbers for that tag. Mine which I'm going to buy- was not listed there. Is that ok?

Can you explain exactly what you are trying to do so I can help you better? I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. I thought you were planning on buying a used laptop from someone and was trying to get the orginial configuration.

Yes it would.
From your prospective, it really was read as i got this number, and want to checks its configuration on dells website. I would know how you got your service tag if you dont have the computer or ordered it yet. It was just confusing and i apoligize for the wrong info
SG: Its for the e -value code, not coupons
product tag
