We connect laptop's (1330 & 1530) into ac adaptor whenever we can. Thinking that will preserve the battery life. Is this an ok assumption?

Should we be doing something specific to extend battery life? i.e. alternating between battery and ac adaptor instead of leaning on AC all of the time?

right now it looks like we'll be able to rely ac adaptor
    more than battery power. thx.

one advice. don't bother! It will last 16-24 months with or without the maintenance. Enjoy your lappy. By the time it is belly up, you will have a new laptop :)

A friend of mine tried to use his laptop with battery out and AC plugged in; he burnt his charger.

It may not be related but its not really worth the effort.

not true! I have a 2.5 year old HP with 0% wear according to several battery programs!

It was on AC most of the time, but it would also get used on battery as well. I would say it spent 66% of the time on AC and the rest on battery.

Li-ion batteries last longer and are healthier when they are kept always charged.

If you drain the battery and leave it dead for days at a time then that's bad. Charge them and keep them charges as much as possible as often as possible.

    But thats for Li-ion batteries.

Nothing other than keep it out of extreme heat and don't leave it drained much.
