im trying to figure out if i want the 1420 or 1520 so i just wanted to know
just how good will the 8400m gs be for gaming?
the only real demanding game i play is cs sourse and all other related half life games and maybe a little cod2, unreal 2004, and of course starcraft 2 when that comes out.
will it be able to handle any games on maximum settings or will everything have to be at medium?
also does anyone know of any dell student discounts or anything else like that in canada?

Im also curious about the discounts... and even more curious about how to get a 4 MB cache for CPU in the customize menu...(in canada there is only one option for CPU for the 1420 and 1520)

While these notebooks are new, I wonder how much Dell can give you in terms of price break. Moreover, how long can they actually deliver the notebook from manufacturing.
The 8400 should be able to handle games with medium settings, because they are really not that fast compare to the 7400. I wonder why Dell does not bundle the 8600 instead. -
You can near max out CS:S at a decent resolution smoothly. With CoD2 and UT2k4...probably around medium to high settings. I don't know about SC2 but Blizzard writes their games really well so that many computers can run it. I'm guessing the 8400GS will run SC2 on low to medium settings at a pretty good resolution.
question about 8400m gs and canada dell discounts
