hi everyone. Glad to be here.

I've been reading some of your posts recently as I am looking for a laptop to buy this summer. It'll be my first laptop so advices are very welcomed. Right now, the one on my mind is Inspiron 9100. but my questions are:

    - Does Dell USA ship their products worldwide or just within the states? Corz I'm currently living in the Uk and the deals you get from Dell Uk is way too expensive (for me?). So I'm basically looking for any reasonable price (from anywhere on this planet :p)

    - A frined of mine who just came from the US told me something about the refurbished products there. And I did find a few on Dell's US site. Are they any good?

    - LAST, how would you comment on this spec: 20/40GB HDD, DVD/CD-RW, 128MB video card (gaming is almost everything I do on computer :p), 512MB RAM, P4 >=2.5Mhz...etc.

    [ :D][ :D]Thanks for your time![ :D][ :D]

Well, since Dell has separate website in different countries, my guess is that the U.S. site would only ship to the U.S. But I am not sure on that.

Second, refurbished Dell's tend to be very good. Often times they sell computers that were returned within 21 or 30 trial period, so most have hardly been used!

Your specs sound good. Couple of things...if you game a lot, I would opt fot the 60 GB 7200 RPM HD (great boost in performance) Second, at some point I would recommend get 1 GB of RAM. I don't know what it's like in the UK, but in the states it's best to order the minimum RAM from Dell (since their RAM is way overpriced) and buy extra ram from a different seller. You can save a lot of money that way

Thanks for the reply. nesbo. I quite agree with you on the buying the minimum RAM, Dell's are really ££££!! I'll try asking Dell US about the shipping. cheers![ :)]
